Free School Meals

In order to process the application you should provide the following:

  • Completed 
  • Proof of your child’s date of birth – this can be from a Birth Certificate, Passport or Child Benefit letter.
  • Evidence of ONE of the following:
      • Income Support
      • Income-based Jobseekers Allowance
      • Income-related employment and support allowance
      • Support under part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
      • Child Tax Credit (provided you are not entitled to Working Tax Credit) and have an annual income that does not exceed £16,190 (as assessed by Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs).   This statement needs to be confirmation of the amount for the 16 – 17 Tax year.  If you don’t have this most recent document please contact the tax office and request a copy.  
      • Guarantee element of State Pension Credit

We will copy this information and send it to Westminster on your behalf.

Please note, it is unlikely your application would be authorised if you are in receipt of working tax credit.

If it is likely your child’s application will be approved, we will provide emergency free school meals for a period of up to 4 weeks while the application is being processed.
