Quintin Kynaston moved into a brand new state of the art building in January 2014, a very significant enhancement on our previous facilities. Our school boasts some of the most up-to-date facilities in the country including drama and dance studios and a sports hall with four badminton courts, four netted cricket lanes and lines for basketball, netball, gymnastics, indoor hockey and five-a-side football. The technology workshops are spacious and superbly equipped. In addition, there are several ICT suites and a MAC suite, which students can access throughout the day to support their studies.
From late October 2015 students and the community will be able to access a full size, floodlit all-weather pitch, which is, again, laid to the highest specifications. The floodlights mean that coaching can take place into the evening. In addition, the grass pitches and netball courts provide superb facilities for a wide variety of team games and individual sports.
Students also have access to an excellent Learning Resource Centre situated at the heart of the school. As well as a wide variety of books to support the school’s curricular and recreational needs, the LRC has an extensive online catalogue, fine collection of DVDs, review journals, revision guides, magazines, newspapers, digital camera, camcorders, CD players, networked computers, interactive Smartboard, laser printers and access to the school network.
Provision for catering and healthy eating spans across a full dining hall and two adjoining cafes. All departments are now suited and classrooms are fitted with the latest specialist equipment, including interactive screens and white boards. A main hall and lecture theatre serve our needs for whole school performances and assemblies.
These facilities are available to hire for sporting, educational, well-being and children’s’ activities for the local community.
