Heart Warming Biology

Science Café number 3

Last night 6th form students were given a lecture by Dr Inés Pineda-Torra, a senior lecturer from the Centre for Clinical Pharmacology, University College London. The lecture focussed on Dr Inés’ journey to becoming an expert in heart disease, her current research into heart receptors and her work with the British Heart Foundation. Dr Inés brought a PhD student and an MSci student to talk to the students about their own journeys and the research they get to do as a Biomedical students. The lecture was engaging and tailored to current A-Level Biology students. The talk provided a pathway to success for our students and some of them are even working on getting some work experience at the labs in UCL.

Come and join us next time.
